Last Minute Details

Ok, I finally downloaded all my registration confirmation stuff for RNRAZ. Tons of papers.

What's cool?

- If, by chance, you'd like to track my progress, you can go to www.rnraz.com and track me under "Live Results" at the 10k, half marathon, 21 mile mark, and finish line.

- My Race Number is 4682.

- My corral number is 4.

- Kool & The Gang is the headliner act for the Post Race Concert. I'm going. Might as well Celebrate while I can.

What's not?

~sigh~

I really hate to say this, but I am not happy about the hydration option out on the course. I really do hate to say that, because they sent me a whole case of the stuff, and a cool tech shirt that I really like. But I have tried many times to drink the stuff while under intense physical exertion, and it just doesn't work out. I'm not going all the way to Phoenix just to repeat my puking episode. Dangit. Dangit. Dangit. Maybe I'll do gel + water. But I haven't trained with any either of those choices lately. But I guess the gel + water is probably the safest. Dangit, Dangit, Dangit.

Corral 4, ok speedy, just show off to the rest of us. My wife loves the Accelerade, but I have yet to enjoy it. I am doing a Gatorade about 30 minutes before the race, and gel and water along the way.

I'm not a fan of that stuff either. Stick with the water, you can never go wrong with water.

water and gel. accelerade = hurling or pooping, or some sort of -ing that is NOT good.

see you soon!

I will not use the product either after my experience with it at last year's CMM. They must have paid Elite Racing BIG bucks because they are the "sports drink" for all Elite's events. I would go with water and gels. At this point, it is probably the safest.

You are going to do GREAT! Enjoy your run in the desert.

The mere thought of accelerade makes me want to head to the bathroom. Good Luck, you'll do well and "Celebrate" with Kool & the Gang! :)

Good luck this weekend. You're gonna do awesome.
Stay away from the accelerade at all costs.

Your new kayak is the bomb.

Water and gel was my recipe for a marathon PR and got me all the way through Ironman--along with a bit'o coke and chicken broth on the run. No worries. It'll work.

Accelerade is disgusting. I'd go with the gels instead, or maybe some salt packets.

Good luck and HAVE FUN!!!!!!

Lana,

If gel and water worked with u before, trust it.

For my IM, I use infinit for the first 12 hr of the race. After the 12 hr mark, I keep getting massive heart burn. Good thing I bought a few gels with me. I ditch my hydration/nutrition strategy and switch to gels.
