Sunrise Ride

I got out of the bed this morning when the alarm rang and did not see any way possible I could get on up to the rec center to meet my homies for a 5:30 a.m. ride. I went through my usual routine and then just sat there thinking "I am so tired. I could so use 2 more hours of sleep. Maybe I can text H and tell her I'm not coming." I am weak, folks. W.E.A.K. But there was one thing stopping me from texting...I knew I would be embarrassed if I was a no show. So after sitting there pondering on it for 7 minutes I got dressed into the bike skirt and jersey I had sat out last night and got out the door. Whew...barely escaped another lazy moment! Ofcourse, I am glad that I went on. It was Don, Holly, Michele and myself. We had a good hard ride and got to see a beautiful sunrise. I ended up with 21 miles in an hour and seventeen minutes. Not exactly blazing, but we did several hills. Don is faster than all of us...so I am hoping he will keep coming back to ride with us. We need the push to make us faster!

I am getting back in the pool this evening if at all possible.

Oh I have those mornings. It is amazing that even after getting out of bed and walking around, I am still tempted to go back to bed. I always am glad afterwards that I did like you!!! Way to go!

The hardest part is getting out the door. Good job!

Having to meet other people would really help the motivation to get up!!

I tell myself go out at start the workout conservatively and if I still don't feel well, I can always turnaround and go back home. The turnaround doesn't happen that much. Things get better, if not, I at least enjoyed the sunrise.

I read an article once that said: when you don't want to workout, think about how good you will feel once it's over.

I came across your blog from someone else's blog. I'm getting ready for my first marathon in November, so I'm looking for others either doing the same or at least writing about running. I'll add you to my "blogs I read" list soon... and play catch up on your old blogs.

Better woman than I. That 4am alarm got turned off... so much for master's swim. But I did just finish a 3-hr brick, so I think I made up for it :)
